​Trust Nurse Services is seeking motivated and forward-thinking Registered Accident and Emergency nurses to work agency shifts.

We are looking for proactive and dedicated Registered Accident and Emergency nurses to support our NHS clients in (South East London). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the ability to communicate effectively with patients and others, the ability to create a safe and supportive environment for patients & feel comfortable/confident working under pressure in a busy environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Talking with the paramedics and taking over the patient’s care.

  • Doing the initial patient examination to assess the patient’s needs.

  • Fixing dressings and administering medication for pain relief.

  • Determining what department the patient needs to be referred to.

  • Completing all paperwork including discharge forms.

  • Making detailed notes.

  • Upholding high care standards.

  • Making arrangements to admit patients into the hospital if needed.

  • Keeping families informed.

  • Keeping in close contact with laboratory staff to pass results on to A&E doctors.

Experience:

  • MUST obtain an ED Certificate issued by the university.

  • 6 months experience working at a relevant level within the community in the UK.

  • Has a full UK driving license and access to an insured car daily.

  • Effective communication skills written, verbal and non-verbal with the ability to adapt communication for individuals with communication difficulties.

  • Able to make clinically reasoned judgements when working with a variety of conditions.

  • Able to work autonomously, and ability to know when to seek appropriate advice/guidance from senior staff.

  • Effective time management and caseload management.

  • Good problem-solving skills.

  • Working knowledge of clinical outcomes measures, and clinical audit.

  • Management of long-term conditions and palliative care.

  • Aware of safeguarding adults.
